"Information letter about an appointment"

About: Victoria Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

I attend an ultrasound scan and had eaten breakfast which could have affected the results. That is my responsibility, but I didn't follow it due to something we all need to account for in communications, human factors.

I saw the letter with the date and time for my appointment and quickly scanned the rest of the letter.

Somewhere near the bottom of the page (by which time I've lost concentration) it said not to eat or drink 6 hours before the appointment.

That would not have been a problem if I'd seen it.

I'd suggest putting it immediately under the appointment time and date.

The rest of the information about changing the date time or location where to park even the bit that says you must read this letter in full (or words to that effect) should come after.

So a suggestion to the Radiology dept at NHS Fife to reconsider the order of the information in the letter please.

I had a fantastic service, I did apologise but I could have wasted everyone's time including my own which incidentally included half an hour to find a place to park in a side street 10 minutes  walks away!

Dear a patient in a hurry,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your experience with radiology. Thank you for your thoughts on the appointment letter you had sent out. I can understand there is often a large amount of information given on these letters, and I agree that the preparation required for examinations should be clear and easy to locate on the letter. I will take forward your idea for layout to the appointment's team.

All the best,

Many Thanks,

Zoë Maclaughlan
