"The accountability of regular sessions really helped"

About: Physical Disability Services / Community Team – Craigavon and Banbridge

(as a parent/guardian),

Fiona was the allocated physio for my son. He is in his 20s and has Lamb Schaffer Syndrome. He has been allocated different physios throughout his life but they were always time limited with the result of discharge. We then had to wait to be referred back in, usually to someone new again. The result was my son was doing physio when he had to and then forgetting about it and this cycle continued.

We then had a referral to the disability team and met Fiona. This is not a time allocated service and we were told they would help when we needed it.

Fiona saw my son on a very regular basis and developed a program that was specific to him and his lifestyle and could work for him. This resulted in developing much needed structure and routine incorporating his physio. The accountability of regular sessions really helped.
