"Compassionate end of life care"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / H North (Surgical)

(as a service user),

My Dad was a patient in H North at Inverclyde Royal Hospital and received end of life care from the ward staff. Their care and compassion was exemplary. Each person we spoke to showed respect to my Dad, and empathy and openness to my family.

Watching your dad die is a painful and heart wrenching situation, but they supported us all and ensured Dad died with dignity.

We want to express our appreciation for all they did. Thank you.

Dear Fi3101,

Firstly, I am so very sorry to hear of your dad's passing.

Thank you on behalf of all the staff in H North for taking the time to post such lovely words at what is a very difficult time for you and your family.

The staff understand the importance of ensuring dignity is maintained during care at all times and are very grateful for your kind feedback.

As you have stated, watching a loved one pass is so very painful and I am glad you, your family and your dad felt supported.

Heather
