"How they have helped me"

About: Specialist Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services / Worcestershire Community Learning Disabilities Team

(as a service user),

Michelle came to see me to do an epilepsy care plan. But she has done a lot more. As soon as she arrived she found out all about me and what I needed help with. She asked me all the questions and listened to my answers. She wants to know what is important to me.

She always tells me what she is going to do to help me with a problem and then does it!

I think Michelle fits the role of a Learning Disability Nurse perfectly

Thank you Princess Cerys for sharing your experience with us. It is great that you have had such a good experience with your learning disability nurse Michelle, I am really pleased that she was able to help you with your epilepsy management plan and other needs. It is excellent that you felt that Michelle listened to you.

I will pass on your comments to Michelle, I am sure she will be pleased to hear that you think she has all of the right skills to be a great learning disability nurse.
