"Absolutely amazing"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency Pilgrim Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Pilgrim Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as a service user),

I was sent at 9.30am to A&E by 111. Was triaged fast and had bloods taken. Was given pain medication and by 12 was up on ward 3A. Had an MRI at 3 and discharged by 7.30pm. Every single member of staff who helped me were amazing. From A&E staff who acknowledged how much pain I was in, to the MRI staff (particularly one who held my hand through the scan because I panicked. The nurse on the ward who showed endless support, going so far as to make sure I was OK emotionally to leave. I have the up most respect for them all. I cant thank them or the hospital enough.

Hi LemonDrop150

That sounds like such a difficult and overwhelming day, but I’m so glad you were surrounded by such caring and supportive staff. It’s amazing how much kindness and compassion can make a difference in moments like that.

I have shared your lovely kind words with the leads from A&E, Ward 3A and MRI to share with everyone.

Wishing you a smooth recovery and hoping you’re feeling better now

Best wishes

Sharon
