I have Pulmonary Fibrosis and recently attended a 12 session Rehab course at Lutterell Hall in West Bridgford. I can only say that this course was so much more than I ever expected . It was such a delight to be there.
I enjoyed working through the exercises during each session and trying to improve each time. The whole experience was so beneficial and I felt stronger after each session. I learned how to push myself without overdoing it. I always felt I was in a safe space with experts who you can trust to do their best for you. I can't express how grateful I am to have been given the chance to do this and how wonderful Claire and her team, Gemma and Linnie, were. They gave me back my confidence.
The talks at the end of each session were also informative and varied.
The weeks went by too quickly and before I knew it I was attending my 'final' 6 minute walk appointment. As someone who has 2 old knee replacements, 1 posterior tibial tendon replacement and heel osteotomy and 1 foot that really needs a similar procedure (which I've decided against in the circumstances) I'm not a very fast walker.
I would love to have rewarded Claire and Gemma with a much improved distance walk but only managed a small change I'm afraid. I think they deserved far more.
"They gave me back my confidence"
