I brought my grandmother in for an xray, she's in her late 70s and she was in due to pain that was making it difficult to walk.
Understandably she was taken to the xray waiting room and was assisted by a staff member who was lovely.
However, many members of staff were on their mobile phones. As my gran was trying to leave that room, there were 4 members of staff just leaning against the wall, on their mobile phones and barely paying any attention to her as she hobbled out of the room. My gran is in pain and it wasn't until she stumbled into someone did they attempt to see her.
I watched as the person stood out of the room (the xray room) and my gran leaned against the wall trying to walk. They did not help her at all and my gran was leaning against the wall to help walk.
With permission i came up to help and i understand they are busy but I feel this is ridiculous and unacceptable.
The treatment of my grandmother is atrocious and as you walk around, many staff are on their mobiles, texting.
The radiography staff member watched as my grandmother struggled to get up onto the bed with no offer of help.
This really upset my grandmother but she was too nervous to say anything, so i am messaging on her behalf.
