My daughter and I attended an appointment at the Behaviour Assessment Service, Slemish Community Services Centre with ADHD Nurse specialist Julie.

We were both nervous, especially my daughter, but right from the start Julie was warm and welcoming, she explained what the appointment would entail and really put my daughter at ease,made her feel secure and comfortable.

Having had a few interactions with Julie since, I just want to say, she is exceptional at her job. She is so kind and caring, but the utmost professional at all times. Please pass on thanks from my daughter and I for turning out experience into a real positive one. Julie is a superstar.

Hello,

My name is Oisin Martin, I am the Assistant Director in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust with responsibility for the Behaviour Assessment Service.

I just wanted to post a quick response on the foot of your comments about your recent experience of attending for an appointment with our service. I was delighted to learn that yourself and your daughter felt supported and comfortable throughout the course of your engagement with Julie.

As I am sure you appreciate, our services are under significant strain with lengthy waiting lists for services. In such circumstances, many parents and children experience an understandable and significant level of distress and frustration. In the midst of this, your kind remarks are a reminder to all of us that the experiences of children and their families are ultimately impacted by the way in which they are directly engaged by clinicians.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your positive experience, I will be sure to pass your kind remarks on to colleagues within the service.
