"An exceptional caring and warm attitude"

About: Torbay Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I had to have a Colonoscopy recently at the Endoscopy Unit and from the moment that I stepped into the unit I was greeted very warmly and attended to with an exceptional caring and warm attitude.

I had a personal Nurse allocated to me to attend to my every need and helped me through the paperwork needed. She then talked me through all that was going to happen to me, this was also done by Mr Methany and the Endoscopist Mr Mitchell.

I found the Colonoscopy itself fascinating and being able to view the whole procedure on a large screen by my side with everything being explained was very interesting, the wonders of the human body.

I was informed that the procedure could be a bit uncomfortable and was give an intravenous injection of a painkiller and relaxant. Which helped me being able to find the experience not as bad as I was expecting! In the end I had 3 polyps removed.

On the whole, I found it very good and not at all worried about having to go in again to have the remaining 4 polyps attended to.

My heartfelt thanks to the team that looked after me in such a caring and warm attitude, thank you.
