I had been feeling unwell for 24 hours with high heart rate and heart palpitations. I then felt dizzy and faint so made my way to Royal ED.
I had a heart rate of 140, high blood pressure and was very quickly triaged. I then waited 8 hours and not long into the night shift staff starting, I had my observations checked again.
Nurse Rose very quickly escalated me to a Doctor as my heart rate and blood pressure was now even higher. She was a brilliant nurse, very knowledgeable.
A doctor then saw me. He was brilliant, very thorough and kind. He quickly had me diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Admitted me to a ward and started treatment.
The staff in ED were all very busy but they were working so hard and trying their best for their patients. I am reassured knowing that if I ever needed emergency care again, the Royal ED will again provide exceptional care.
