I have just had my first baby and had brilliant care from my community midwifery team. I was under the Juniper team at Forth Valley. Everyone my partner and I met during my pregnancy and postnatally was great.
Our main midwife, Karen, was particularly wonderful. At my antenatal appointments with her, I always felt reassured and relaxed. Karen was easy to talk to.
Postnatally, I was struggling initially (particularly with breastfeeding and disappointment that my birth did not go as hoped) but when Karen came to visit a couple of days after I was discharged, she helped me feel so much more positive. She listened to my feelings and we made a plan together based on my priorities as a mum.
Karen and student midwife Ciara (apologies if misremembered name) then came to visit several times and they made a huge difference both practically and emotionally.
Thank you so much.
