"Waiting list for orthopaedics"

About: General Practices in NHS Highland Raigmore Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Just found out I was only added to waiting list at the beginning of December. I am a returning patient and was told to phone secretary if needing seen. I did this mid-year. Heard nothing after 3 months.

In total, the secretary emailed consultant additionally twice. GP has emailed and sent letters 3 times. I was off work 3 months with foot pain. My leg and foot is swollen, red and painful, absolute agony.

GP can't do more as I need seen by Orthopaedics. I already need crutches to walk and have serious health issues. I really didn't want to complain but now I have no choice, as I've become aware that there are more recent referrals being seen sooner than me. And I have had nerve blocks for pain so the seriousness of my situation is known. Bluntly said, an animal would be treated better.

I hate complaining but don't want anyone else being left like this despite good GP input!
