"The friendly care and attention I received was excellent"

On Tuesday end of January 2025 I was taken by ambulance to the A & E of Perth Royal Infirmary suffering from chest and arm pains.

The friendly care and attention I received there was excellent from all the staff but particularly from nurses Amy and Rebecca and Dr Bett. They were reassuringly professional as they went about their tasks of monitoring and recording my condition and taking bloods and inserting a cannula for further blood tests to record the troponin in my blood.

I was wheeled from A & E for a chest X Ray and back by a courteous peorter. From the A & E I was taken upstairs to the Assessment Area before being admitted to the Acute Medical Ward 4.

The care I received there continued to be excellent particularly from Advanced Nurse Practioner Colin who realised that I was anxious to get home because I have a wife who is in a wheelchair and Colin explained about the various 3 hourly blood tests which would determine whether or not I would be discharged that evening.

This eventually happened and I was informed that I had not suffered a heart attack but that the pains were a result of my Aortic Stenosis.

I have nothing but praise for all the staff I encountered at Perth Royal Infirmary.
