"Can't get an appointment"

I rang my doctors for a appointment at 8am. I was 19th in the queue. At 9.05 I was told they were too busy to fulfill my request and to call back another day and ended the call. As I was worried about my fast heart rate, I went to A&E where I waited 6 hrs. 

I still need to make an appointment but have no idea how I'm going to do that. I think this is a terrible system they have in place, I've no idea why 5 years post covid GPs are still being to run like this, I feel it is having a massive impact on A&E services
