"No access to day room from Carlisle ward"

I am a patient on Carlisle ward and the front day room has been locked off.
I have been on here nearly 4 years and there has been no incidents and they have locked the day room off I am not happy and they locked off laundry it is one thing after another.

Do you have a similar story to tell?

Thanks for raising this. I have asked a couple of people to review and see if there is a better way. It is in part to do with increased levels of acuity across the hospital, and how this impacts on staffing level, but also the sheer size of Carlisle. It is a very large ward, but is also one I like visiting.

We are sorry you are not able to access all areas of your ward. We recognise that the sheer size of the ward can pose challenges however we will do our upmost to ensure we can provide sufficient staff to safely manage all areas across the ward. We will ensure we monitor this for improvements.
