I had a follow up appointment in August, 8 months after a procedure.
Everything was not bad at this point so I was not offered any further appointments and was advised to phone if there were any further problems.
Less that 2 months later I of course began to have problems, as unfortunately I have an incurable, progressive, systemic disease.
I was told there were no appointments available and the first thing they could offer was a telephone appointment over Christmas. I was told they would check for cancellations and let me know if anything came up sooner. I explained that what was now happening to me was affecting my mental health very badly. I was told oh well phone your GP. I phoned and spoke to someone who had previously dealt with my complaints regarding the department and again there was nothing they could do.
A couple of weeks later I received a letter advising me my telephone appointment had been cancelled and my new appointment was in Feb 2025.
It has been 5 months of hell for me having to wait and you have to battle to get help. I cannot understand why they don't monitor an incurable, progress, systemic disease. If I had asthma or diabetes I would have clinics to attend for life but because what is wrong with me relates to women's health they simply don't care.
The grim reality for me is that I may lose the use of my bladder if it has spread further but it feels likes they don't care. It's not treated as an emergency whatsoever yet I could end up with a stoma and losing the use of my bladder as well as the terrible impact on my mental health.
