"My mother's care"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Daisy Hill Hospital / Female Medical

(as a relative),

My mother was admitted to A&E suddenly which was very stressful for her, as she has dementia. The care she received from A&E staff was very good, especially when she got very distressed, they were very gentle towards her.

However, she had to be admitted to Female Medical, ward 23. From her admittance until discharge, she received fantastic care from nurses and support workers.

Due to her condition, a family member was able to stay at all times to help keep her calm and I have no doubt this aided her recovery process.

The staff were also very attentive to family members ensuring they were kept informed at all times.

I had first hand experience of the workloads that the staff were under and have nothing but praise for their professionalism, care and dedication to the wellbeing of the patients.

Thank you to everyone.
