"Efficient and caring service after bowel screening"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy Victoria Hospital / Colorectal Unit

(as a service user),

I completed bowel screening kit and posted it in mid-January. Three days later I received a call saying blood had shown in my sample and I needed a telephone consultation and then colonoscopy a week later.

My results were clear which is fantastic. My treatment from that very first call, straight through to receiving tea and toast after procedure was excellent. Every single member of NHS staff at Queen Margaret endoscopy unit was courteous, helpful, kind, professional. I could not fault one tiny thing or person.

It was a worrying fortnight for me, as I expected the worst. Every single person supported me through and I am extremely grateful to them all. Special mention to Shelley, SN Jen and Scott.

Thank you for taking time to feedback about your complete journey from Bowel Screening to completion at Endoscopy. I was delighted to read how efficient, caring and professional both my teams were. They take great pride in the standard of care they deliver putting their patients individual needs first.

Fantastic news on your results, this is why bowel screening is so very important so thank you for taking control over your own health through our screening programme. Both teams work very closely together and this is how we manage to make your journey from start to finish as streamlined as possible. And yes the tea and toast is the highlight off the day
