"100 out of 100 for empathy, communication, medical assistance and friendliness"

About: Trauma & orthopaedics / Orthopaedic National Treatment Centre

(as the patient),

Seen immediately and 29 hours later after successful operation was released.

I had been referred to Fife by Lothian health.

Staples removal was to be local but after four clinics only some staples were removed as leg was swollen.

I contacted NTC, was seen at 10 a.m. and by 11.30 a.m. was able to leave. During that time the nurse [Fiona-brilliant] removed a further 6 staples, organised an x-ray, identifying a further 9 hidden which with the help of a colleague and supervised by a doctor she successfully removed.

To everyone at the NTC who assisted in entire process [over 30 members of staff] I say thank you. 100 out of 100 for empathy ,communication, medical assistance and friendliness.

Good evening

My name is Yvonne, I am the Senior Charge Nurse within the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department.

Thank you so very much for providing such wonderful feedback. I am so glad you felt communication was good, you were cared for empathetically and had all the medical assistance you needed. We work exceptionally hard making sure each and every patient is treated as an individual and are given care tailored exactly to their needs. To hear your positive feedback really motivates us to keep working hard.

I already knew about your hidden staples as Fiona had shared her findings with me, I think her nurses instinct just knew there were more hiding. Thank you for sharing this very meaningful feedback for Fiona, I have shared it with her and she is very grateful for your kind words.

I will share your wonderful feedback with all of the NTC Team.

I wish you well during your recovery and orthopaedic journey. I look forward to welcoming you back to the National Treatment Centre for your follow up.

Best Wishes

Yvonne
