I was referred by my GP on the post menopausal bleeding (PMB) pathway for an endometrial biopsy.
My appointment began with an initial consultation with the hysteroscopist (Hannah), who listened to my thoughts around the bleeding I've been experiencing coupled with the type of HRT that I'm currently on. She also fully explained the results of an ultrasound scan that I'd had a few months ago at a different hospital. I felt listened to and very reassured following this.
Hannah then walked me through each step of the biopsy procedure and assured me that I could ask her to stop at any point if things became too uncomfortable or painful (which they didn't).
She was assisted by Kirsty during the actual procedure, who did an excellent job of chatting to me to keep me relaxed and distracted.
I felt that I was in very good hands throughout the whole appointment.
