"So helpful, friendly and efficient"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service South Tyrone Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit

(as a relative),

I brought my father to the minor injuries at STH, to seek advice for an eye injury.

We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, a wheelchair user, and nursing staff who were all so helpful, friendly and efficient.

In particular I would like to give special mention to ANP Ruth, SN Rosemary, Student Nurse Roisin and a paramedic student (can’t remember her name ..sorry) and to thank them for their compassion, fabulous care and attention both Dad and I received.

ANP Ruth kept us fully informed as she liaised with Eye casualty in the RVH. Student Nurse Roisin and the paramedic student kept Dad in chat and he felt so at ease in their care. We were also so thankful to Rosemary for the cuppa and biscuits when we waited for a response from the RVH.

Yous are all a credit to the nursing profession and my father & I are so appreciative of this service.

Hi Faith573,

Thank you for taking the time to post this very positive review. Delighted that both you and your father's experience within the unit was compassionate and efficient. As a team we try to deliver the highest quality of care to all our patients to make their assessment and follow up care as seamless as possible. I hope your Father is well on in his recovery from the eye condition he presented with. I will pass this onto all the staff involved.

Good morning Faith573,

I would like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to share your experience of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. It was heartening to learn how the paramedic student kept your Dad in chat and that he felt at ease in their care. As an organisation we are committed to consistently show compassion, professionalism, and respect for the patients we care for. I would like to share your feedback with the student who attended to your Dad on the day and in order to locate them I would require the following information:

-Date and approximate time of the incident

-The address the ambulance was dispatched to

If you are happy to share this information, I can be contacted at Maggie.hamilton@nias.hscni.net

I hope your Dad is recovering well.

Kind regards,

Maggie
