my dad took his own life, after being failed by the ELFT CMHT team, who kept discharging him (they discharged him 3 times ) even when he said he was going to do what he did, at his inquest they did not even to turn up instead they wrote a letter, not even apologising just saying they could of prevented it… the coroner was disgusted and we were also, he was failed massively.
Since he died I have been telling every single professional that the same thing will happen to me, everyone kept making excuses -oh it’s a different team now . No it’s not in my experience.
After transferring to the CMHT from perinatal mental health I was promised to have trauma therapy, extensive psychological assessments and for my safety plan to be followed, this never happened.
In the past month, 4 different gp’s, a health visitor, my support worker, my social worker, a&e and the 111 option 2 service have been referring me to the crisis team and CMHT as I can’t cope, my CMHT team and crisis team failed to contact me they even lied on my nhs app and said that I went into the mental Health clinic when I confronted them about this via email, I had no response but it was magically taken off my nhs app and corrected itself.
On Monday I looked at my nhs app and I saw I had a letter, this letter stated that I was being discharged as they havent given me any mental Health support and I can just go back to the GP.
So I broke down yesterday I hit crisis, I sat in an a&e waiting room, bleeding from my arm; my mum on the phone to the crisis team who refused to see me yesterday, they didn’t want to triage me instead they said just come see us in 24 hours.
Luckily today I saw the crisis team, it was a lovely gentlemen who was so apologetic about how I’ve been treated, he’s disgusted at how I was discharged and is going to sort it but someone will call me next week in the mean time I just have to call 111 if I hit crisis.
Over the past 3 months I have made a total of 33 calls to CMHT, I’ve left 15 voice mails and not one time has ANYONE got back to me, my GP has tried to contact them; they don’t pick up the phone, The 111 mental health service tried to contact them and said I needed to be seen within 4 hours, they didn’t answer and I was never seen.
