"Staff were supportive and reassuring"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was extremely anxious before going in but the staff on ward 1 ( particularly Josmi, Madonna and Juby) who were my primary care nurses were really supportive. Nothing was a problem and they managed to make me feel much less anxious about the operation and also afterwards. I never felt I was being ignored and they came very quickly anytime I pressed the buzzer.

The theatre staff were always very reassuring and gave me confidence when I was worried. The surgeon Mr Kumar and his team did a great job under difficult circumstances.

Thanks to one and all. Here’s to my full recovery and thanks for your support during my stay with you

Hi

Oh how lovely! Thank you so much for sending in your comments and your experience as it sounds like we have certainly got it right and ensuring patients have the highest quality care we can give. I will share with the team and the nurses mentioned will be thrilled to be named personally. As Matron its always so amazing for me to read that your anxieties were allayed as surgery is a very anxious time.

I hope you are recovering well and please take care.

KR

Julie
