"We are just besotted with our baby boy"

About: Maternity care / Ward 46 (post-natal) Maternity care / Ward 48 (labour ward)

(as a service user),

I was brought in for induction and I was very anxious as it was not part of my birth plan. From the get go, the staff in the antenatal ward introduced themselves to us and orientated us to the ward. They fully explained the induction process and I felt like I had power to make informed decisions. I was in this ward for 2 days and the staff could not have been nicer! Special thanks to Helen and student Tara who instantly welcomed us onto the ward and to Dr Noreen for all her care and for respecting our wishes.

I was then moved to labour ward for planned C-section. Prior to the procedure I met the anesthetic doctor who explained what would happen and I also met the midwives. This put me at ease and when I entered the theatre it was nice to see a familiar face. The surgery went well and the whole team were very attentive to my needs. They explained what was happening at every stage and I felt very supported. I was very scared about having major surgery however it actually turned out to be a magical experience and this was down to the whole team! Special thanks to Aoife (anaesthetic doctor) and Amy, Laura and Heather (midwives). Heather looked after us in recovery and is a lady, her care was second to none!

On returning to the post natal ward, we were again introduced to all the staff. The midwives went above and beyond for us, especially during those first nights. They were a brilliant support and nothing was too much to ask! Special thanks to Audrey, Laura, Molly and Ciara. I also want to thank Zoe for helping me through a very difficult night, you are an angel!

We are just besotted with our baby boy and will always remember how well we were treated at one of the most vulnerable times of our lives. On behalf of myself, my husband and Baby , we will never be able to thank you enough!

Hi, firstly can I just congratulate you on the birth of your baby son and I hope you are enjoying parenthood.

Can I also thank you for taking the time to send in such lovely feedback. This means a lot to the staff in such challenging times. I will pass on your feedback to all the staff.

Thanks
