"Getting blood taken"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Community Treatment & Care Centre (CTACS)

(as the patient),

Had an appointment to get bloods taken, which I was DREADING, I have the worst veins ever and the nurses at gp surgery always struggle, if I'm lucky they manage maybe their 5th attempt, while I'm having to lie down as feel like I'm going to faint by this point!

So arrived at the hospital nervous, only sat for a couple of minutes in a lovely cosy waiting room before I was called and taken through. The nurse Carolyn. who was very friendly asked me a few questions, I explained to her my fear, and that I usually get the kiddies needle, she listened to me and found the appropriate needle and within a minute and first attempt  Carolyn took my blood, no problem at all...AMAZING!! I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.😀

Thank you PurpleRain for taking the time to provide this feedback.

I'm sorry that your experiences in the past has not been a good and this will have affected you for future appointments. It is, however, excellent to hear that you have had a very positive experience with your latest appointment. Hopefully, if you need a blood test in the future this will not cause you any anxiety due to this experience. It is reassuring to know that you were listened to during your appointment and that Caroline was able to accommodate your needs. I will pass this feedback on to the team. Thank you again.
