"Made you feel like nothing was too onerous"

About: Fife Community Services / Physiotherapy Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery Scottish Ambulance Service / Patient Transport Service Trauma & orthopaedics / Orthopaedic National Treatment Centre Victoria Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat Victoria Hospital / Occupational Therapy

(as a service user),

I recently had an appointment to have day surgery for the removal of a heel spur.  This was scheduled as a day surgery appointment and the staff at Queen Margaret Day Surgery could not have been more helpful, nice and friendly from the moment of my arrival

Unfortunately all did not go to plan and I did not get home as scheduled and had to be transferred to Victoria Hospital for an overnight stay.  The bed that was found for me was in ENT ward and I was anxious initially of going to ENT ward when I was an Orthopaedic patient.

I met with Keisha the physio and her colleague the next day and they could not have been more supportive of me but unfortunately I had to have another over night stay in ENT

The next day I met with another physio (I think her name was Sharon) and her colleague from Occupational Therapy (I think his name was Paul).  Again the staff could not have been more helpful and supportive and finally the signed off me going home.

The staff within ENT that I met during my 3 night stay were all absolutely fabulous.  They were all so helpful and made you feel like nothing was too onerous.  However, I have to say some of the staff I need to name as they always went over and above, from Claire, Denise, Laura, Prinita etc you should all be so proud of the job you do and how caring each of you were during my stay.  A special mention to Steven who treated everyone in the bay with compassion, with a helpful demeanor and was just a genuinely nice person.

Special thanks go to Mr Carter my surgeon as well as the whole team from my operation who made me feel at ease especially with our 80's music, singing and dancing before my procedure

Last thanks have to go to the gentlemen from patient transfer, from the 2 who transferred me from Queen Margaret hospital to the amazing 2 gentleman from Alliance patient transfer who brought me home.

My experience overall was very positive and every member of staff over the weekend stay are a treasure to NHS Fife.

Dear Gemini0576,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on Care Opinion. I note that your feedback relates to a number of different NHS services. I am pleased to hear that you a positive overall experience and that you received good quality care.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Marie,

Patient Experience Manager
