"Long time for prosthetic"

About: WestMARC (Forth Valley) / Bioengineering Clinic

(as a service user),

I would just like to comment on the time frame between having my cast taken and having my prosthetic made.

It was at the end of October it was agreed that my original limb was not suitable and at the end of November I had a new cast taken.

I called WESTmarc recently for any update on the progress of my new prosthetic. Disappointed to be told that there was no update or further appointment for a fitting.

I appreciate this is difficult for staff, but it is also difficult for me. It is now 6 months since I was operated on and I still await the chance to perhaps walk again.

Thank you for feeding back on your experience, I am sorry to hear it has not been a positive one.

I am aware there are currently increased waiting times for manufacture of limbs and sockets. Please contact me on 0300 790 0129 to discuss this in more detail.
