"My Mum's Care in Hospital"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Elderly Medicine (wards 2a, 2c, 6a, 6c, 8a & 8c)

(as a service user),

My Mum fell and fractured her humerus, she was transferred from QEUH to GGH where she was in wards 4C, 6C and 2C for rehabilitation. I live in Edinburgh so it was difficult seeing my Mum everyday. She was a little disorientated due to the medication/pain relief and the environment. My elderly Dad lives 10 miles from GGH however he tried to visit as much as he could.

Both my Dad and I were very reassured by the care my Mum received in hospital, it really gave us peace of mind. We wanted to share our thanks to all staff in GGH.

Dear Lesleyx25

Thank you so much for sharing your experience our wards in Gartnavel General. I am so glad you and your family had a positive experience and were reassured whilst she was in Hospital. We understand it can be an upsetting and stressful time as a relative.

I hope your Mum is doing well. And I will pass on your kind wards to the Senior Charge Nurses to share with teams for the 3 wards you mention.

Laura
