"My cataract experience"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Cataract Unit

(as a service user),

The whole experience on the day was as good as I could have hoped for. I was a bit apprehensive about having surgery on my eye but the staff were brilliant. From the moment I arrived until it was all over they explained what was happening and put my mind at rest, especially when I had a (very) minor panic when I actually went into theatre.

The post-op procedure was also explained clearly and the eye drop regime and what I could and couldn't do afterwards was well covered.

And the best thing.. now my eyesight in that eye is vastly better, first time in 40 years I don't need grasses for distance vision!

Dear @Dizzydalek,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback from your recent visit to the Cataract Unit.

It is not uncommon to feel apprehensive about a procedure and I am glad the staff put your mind at ease by explaining everything thoroughly.

I am glad to hear you have noticed a vast improvement in your vision!

Many thanks
