"They have made a huge impact to my life"

About: Community Services (Adult Physical Health) / Doncaster Long Covid

(as a service user),

The long Covid team at St John’s have been and still are amazing. From the moment I walked in to meet my first Occ health therapist Becki and physio Lyndsey I knew that my care was and is in safe hands. Throughout my journey from September 2023 up to present day my care has been personalised, attentive, planned and progressive in supporting my care and health needs. The Long Covid team supported me in understanding what long Covid means to my body and brain, why and how my body and brain is responding in the way it is and how best to support my recovery.

My recovery for me has gone from not being able to eat food as too fatigued, muscles aching, dizziness, bp dropping, and my brain not remembering what I needed to do. With gradual support and plan I was able to return back to work (after 9 months off) do a more normal life while continuing to keep up with my recovery work and appointments to achieve my best.

Today I am able to go for walks, prepare and cook food, drive, enjoy days out and do a normal day, that is a day that is my new normal.

I can not thank the team, from Occ health, physio, relax therapy enough. They have made a huge impact to my life and long May the team continue especially as my coginitive impairment is been supported by Leigh.

The team are always looking for was to develop care and therapy to support their patients. Researching and looking for ways to improve next steps. Patients also bring information too, such as, the Viable App which supports the patient care while supporting the teams knowledge.

Long Covid is here to stay and patients will require their fantastic support that I am still receiving in the future. We are still in the early days with long covid and its treatment for patients it would be highly beneficial for the teams dedication and professionalism to continue developing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this feedback for our service. We value all feedback from our patients as it helps us to understand the ongoing needs of people living with Long Covid and whether our service is meeting these needs.

I'm so pleased to hear that things are improving and you are now getting back to daily activities. It is also good to hear that you had a positive experience with the long covid service, and you are finding the clinicians to be knowledgeable, helpful and supportive.

Best wishes

Leigh
