"They are the most loveliest hospital staff"

About: Victoria Hospital / Gastroenterology Victoria Hospital / Outpatients

(as the patient),

Today I attended a gastroenteritis appointment at the outpatient department in the Victoria hospital.

I was approached by the most caring, polite young nurse called Lauren to take my weight and height. I was extremely nervous for my appointment due to suffering from a mental health condition but Lauren made me feel at ease and was very reassuring.

I get myself anxious about being in public and always overthink a lot of things, especially other people’s opinions of me after putting on weight. I explained this to the nurse Lauren and she took the time to not only listen to me but gave me the best advice and made me see a new lease of life.

I then had my appointment with Dr Gilchrist who was the nicest consultant I have ever met. Not only did she take the time to listen to me she very understanding and reassuring. I normally feel rushed by consultants when I have an appointment but Dr Gilchrist gave me as much time as I needed and explained everything so clearly.

After my appointment I found the nurse Lauren again to thank her and ask her how to give possible feedback as I felt cared for and like I mattered. Lauren explained this website to me and after asking her how to work it she kindly took time on her computer to give me a tour of care opinion and how to use it.

I want to say a big thank you to nurse Lauren and Dr Gilchrist for not only making my experience the best that they could but for also taking the time to listen to me.

They are the most loveliest hospital staff I have come across and their patients are so lucky to have them as care providers.
