"Preparing my 6 year old for tonsillectomy"

About: Paediatrics / Paediatric pre-operative assessment

(as a service user),

On speaking with Louise, she was very informative, patient and kind. My son has some challenging needs at times and I explained this as well as what would be helpful and of course what they may or may not experience with my son, but Louise already had information for us to prepare and for my son, as well as the option of a visit.

This is really helpful and less stressful, we like to keep our son well informed so there are no "scary" surprises for him, it can go either way but he will love the information and knowing he has empowerment with this, which is good for a child to experience.

A general idea of what may be expected is just fantastic care and delivery, but we've received much more than that and it really helps. Things have certainly changed since my older children have grown. I appreciated every source from Louise and my son and I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Dear humanitiesqn87,

Thank you so much for your kind feedback regarding your son's pre op assessment for his pending operation. We aim to try and prepare children as much as possible, taking in account all their needs, in order to help prepare them for their big day.

I hope your son enjoyed looking through all the resources and hope they help him to have a positive experience when he comes for his surgery.

Kind Regards

Louise
