"Visit with physio"

About: Physiotherapy - South Ayrshire

(as the patient),

I called in at the GP requesting an appointment as I have a painful knee.  The receptionist suggested a physio appointment and that was within 10 days so I was very pleased after all the negative press there is about long waits for appointments.

I had the appointment with Adam, the physio.  He asked me what the problem was and explained that I have patella femoral pain.  He was able to show me how my knee cap sort of goes the wrong way and he showed me exercises to do to help.  He also suggested the type of trainers I should wear for running on my treadmill.  

I have a printout of the exercises and a web address for more and I am full of hope for recovery but it’s up to me to do the work.  Adam took the time to explain things and used the knee model too so I understand what is wrong and what I have to do.

I am sorry to hear that you have been suffering with a painful knee, but it is heartening to hear that Adam, your Physiotherapist has been able to listen to you, assess your symptoms and provide you with some suitable exercises to hopefully improve this for you. It is also great to know that Adam has been able to provide you with advice on footwear and a web address for some additional exercises that you might find helpful. This is a lovely example of the person centred care that we strive to deliver
