My granny died in May 2024. She went into hospital and died 2 weeks later. It was unexpected and sudden, and an incredibly difficult time for our family.
My granny was very ill - more ill than we could have ever known, and it is safe to say that she lost her dignity before going into hospital.
It is hard to find comfort in such dark times, however, one thing that I have taken away from my granny's death, and that makes such a sad situation so much better, is the support that the amazing nurses in ward 36 provided.
Thank you for being there for her when I wasn't. She really liked you all and enjoyed spending time with you! You gave her her dignity back and put her at ease at the end of her life - given the circumstances, I really could not have asked for anything more.
You all do amazing work and I am forever grateful that these nurses were the ones to work with my family.
