Went for a routine blood test and was literally forced to wear a mask, asked if they had any incidents to the reply of at this time of year there is COVID, flu and other virus's going round and we don't want to catch it?? I was at Salford Royal the previous day and no covid masks in the hospital.. just checked on government website and there is your usual warning of over 65, or babies under 6 months. Must have had a issue at this practice or making this up as no other practice or hospitals even no businesses that are forcing this.. I just left as it worried me that they wasn't joking about the risk of COVID in this practice....I will be ringing to see if they have sanitatised the surgery before I next go and if COVID has gone

Dear Peter Holdsworth, we are sorry to hear of your experience. We are NOT forcing anyone to wear masks, however we are seriously advocating it to everyone coming into our GP surgery. The reason is due to a high rate of flu virus and COVID-19 virus in the community at this time. Hospitals are overflowing and patients are lying in hospital corridors for treatment with virus. We want to contribute in reducing this risk. It is scientifically proven that masks can reduce risk of virus transmission. You are free to decline a mask and it would not affect how we look after you. We are available for further conversation should you wish to.
