"To the caring young nurse"

About: General practices in Lothian Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

To the beautiful, caring young nurse last night didn't give a hoot about it being her clocking off time, she saw me clearly distressed and stayed with me til she reunited me with my old dad.

Just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to the lovely young nurse working at ERI tonight.

My old dad had an awful weekend and finally convinced him to let me call the doc this morning. The GP that came to the house was Dr Sedcole who my dad has been seeing for the last year and is an absolute walking angel who has restored his faith in the NHS, the care she gives him is above and beyond. She works for Linlithgow group medical practice she took one look at him and called up an ambulance which I am so grateful for.

I didn't catch the names of the paramedics but again they were absolutely brilliant with him at a really difficult time.

The ambulance staff were amazing and suggested I'd be best to follow him in a couple of hours later due to the long admissions process which gave me time to change his bed, do his washing and make sure his 20 and 15 year old cats were sorted and comfortable

After leaving home in morningside at 7am in the morning, it gave me so much comfort to be noticed by the lovely nurse who was clocking off at ERI and saw me wandering around dazed, tired and confused trying to find him.

And find him she did.

Honestly, I really hope you are on here and see this, you are a true earth angel, you went above and beyond and I am so grateful

We are all so quick to tear down the NHS yet angels like this made all the difference to my life tonight.

The young nurse at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary I have no clue of her name but she went so far above and beyond, was clearly the end of her shift yet she saw me in the state I was in and refused to leave me til she reunited my with my old dad, she truly is an earth angel

I'm so sad that every day we see the NHS being torn to shreds whilst people like this exist.

Dear giftyf55,

I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service for taking the time to share your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that your dad was so unwell and I do hope that he is recovering. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff and partners provide. It means a lot to the staff to receive such lovely feedback so we really do appreciate the time and effort you have gone to to submit it.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your father's name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Marie,

Patient Experience Manager
