"Poor communication, great care"

About: The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Hi I was a patient about a year ago on Ward 25 for lobectomy. Care was great, didn't see nurses often as they were so busy. Was seen again in February in clinic and discharged back to referring hospital. My only complaint is that I have never received a clinic letter from this and only received my pre op appt letter telling me the plan, 6 months after my surgery. I know there have been previous problems with clinic letters and feel some work still needs to be done to sort this out, patients should receive their letters, I only knew my surgery had been robotic after local hospital told me, patients deserve to know. This doesn't take away from the care received, it seems to an admin problem.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your care on ward 25 at the Freeman Hospital. We are pleased that you were happy with the care that you received but disappointed that the communication concerning your care has been poor.
