"My Hepatitis C treatment"

About: Salisbury District Hospital / Hepatology Wessex Clinical Van

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Elaine from the Van team and Salisbury hospital have been very supportive of me through my treatment journey, which has not gone as smoothly as we had hoped.

Elaine drove miles to pick me up to take me to appointments and support me as I have a fear of hospitals. The Hepatology Nurse even marked my paperwork as an anxious patient which meant I got seen really quickly for my blood test and we didn’t have to wait in the full waiting room.

They have never given up on me and are very caring and want to help. 10/10.

Thank you for sharing your experience of Elaine from the Wessex Clinical Van team. The aim of our service is to support people to access treatment so whilst I'm sorry to hear that it wasn't totally a seamless process, I'm pleased to hear that Elaine was able to support you to attend your appointments and that the Hepatology team were able to alleviate some of the anxieties around attending hospitals.

Thank you for talking through your anxieties with Elaine so that they were able to make some adjustments to help get you through your treatment. Wishing you all the best.
