"You all have a heart of gold"

About: St John's Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Having a miscarriage has to be one of the most upsetting and emotional times of your life but the staff on ward 12 and EPU have gone above and beyond. The high standards of care that my partner and I received during my 3 day stay in the unit last week were exceptional. Staff went above and beyond their duty of care. SCN Jill your team are amazing and I would like to thank each and everyone!

During my first day when I became unwell S/N Maxine and CSW Jenny were so kind and supportive to my partner and I through that traumatic time. I would also like to thank S/N Daniele, Emma, Abigail and Lynette. CSW Andrea, Louise, Marion and Jules. You all were amazing from easing my anxiety and ensuring that I felt safe and comfortable. The little things by having my partner staying with me and to making us tea and toast at night really did make us feel cared for. You all have a heart of gold.

As a NHS staff member never having been a patient and seeing it all from the other side, this was such a traumatic time for us. Words can’t describe what an incredible team you all are.

Dear eaterbn76

I am so very sorry to hear of your miscarriage. This must have been an incredibly difficult time and I understand how it could all feel quite traumatic. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about the care you received at St John's.

It was heartwarming to read how supportive the Ward 12 and EPU staff were during your stay, and that they showed you such empathy and compassion. I will make sure your kind comments are shared with the teams involved and in particular the staff members named. I am sure they will be very grateful for the feedback.

Thank you again and take care.

Louise
