"The whole team were excellent"

My baby made a very unexpected arrival into the world 9 weeks early. On arrival via ambulance to Craigavon Area Hospital the whole team were waiting.

I was met by a consultant, anaesthetists, midwives and paediatricians who all explained their role and what was expected to happen. This was a very frightening time for my partner and myself but we were reassured and felt it was all in full control. It was obvious everyone knew their role and there was a plan in place. The whole team were excellent and made a very frightening and shocking experience that bit easier.

Midwife Aideen was amazing and very reassuring throughout the delivery of my baby boy. Her skills and kindness have meant the world to us. My baby was taken to NICU straight after delivery and Aideen was able to give us updates and supported both me and my partner through a very worrying time. Also, anaesthetist John who was giving continuous updates throughout my emergency C-section which made me feel informed and reassured throughout. 

Thank you to all of the teams involved in the safe delivery and care of my baby boy who is now thankfully thriving at home with us.
