"High standards are noticeable and maintained"

About: Haematology / Haematology Day Treatment Unit

(as the patient),

This is my tenth year having regular blood transfusions for myelodysplasia. 3 points to make:

1. Undying gratitude to blood donors and excellent blood transfusion services, never had a bad reaction, but occasional problems with blood samples for X matching.

2. Really appreciate the excellent care from the staff of Ward 7.  The Saturday team are fairly consistent and the continuity of care is very important. High standards are noticeable and maintained. Cheerful people, it makes such a difference.

3. Despite the various changes which were inevitable during the pandemic, I had transfusions fortnightly and never had Covid.

Good Morning Elphin,

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your much appreciated feedback.

Our Blood transfusion services work very hard behind the scenes. To hear from someone like yourself who has benefited from their service is testament to their work.

I will ensure the SCN of Ward 7 is aware of your lovely post and to feedback to the cheerful team.

Wishing you all the best in your ongoing treatment Elphin.

Morag Moore ( CNM Edinburgh Cancer Centre)
