I slipped on an icy farm track when out for a walk and broke my ankle. I felt like a total numpty for falling over and I was really upset because I’d been planning to scatter my husband’s ashes that weekend and knew I wouldn’t be able to now. He’s been gone a year and I wanted to scatter his remains at a lovely place I know that I would have to hike to. When I’m upset, I’m a bit loud and crack pointless jokes, and the lovely HCA and doctor must have realised this. They matched my energy and made me feel more relaxed. Care was quick and reassuring and I left with the information I needed to get through the next few days.
