"Wonderful Orthopaedic staff at Glasgow Royal Infirmary"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / General Surgery (wards 63, 64, 65, 66,& 67)

(as a service user),

In late December 2024, I received surgery for an Arthroscopy on my right knee, which had been very painful for some time. I was actually quite anxious, but the staff from the moment I walked in to the moment I hobbled out were wonderful - an absolute credit to The NHS, NHSGGC and GRI.

They all put me at ease, kept checking I was comfortable before heading through for anaesthesia, then the next I remember was waking up in Recovery. At all points, they kept me informed of what was going to happen / had happened and made sure I understood my post-surgery plans and exercises.

The team in question were Mr. Jones,

Luke and Mr. Noble in Anaesthetics,

Heather, Kirsty ( red haired nurse ),

Tommy A., Thomas, Laura, Anita, Kimberley in Recovery and Colin the Physio.

I'm very grateful for all the staff there, and in particular the team that cared for me - hopefully I haven't missed anyone's names, apologies if I have.
