Waited over an hour for the phone call. I wanted to book a doctor appointment due to signs of skin cancer that I have had previously. I had to explain in very much detail about the signs/symptoms of the sores. Told by receptionist that no appointments were available for a month. I stated that I should be seen earlier than this as it might be cancer. She saw the duty doctor who said it would have to be a months time. I was then asked to send photos in electronically, which I do not know how to do. So again, told I would have to wait a month. With this I phoned 111 who took my details, symptoms etc and informed me I should be seen within 3 days and to contact Aspen back to inform them of what they had said. The Duty doctor said they disagreed with 111 however I could be seen now in 11 days at a different surgery, within their practice. It really strikes me that this practice is two completely different sections. The nurses who are exemplary and the doctors who are a very different kettle of fish. What is very confusing is the fact that waiting for an appointment for one, or even two months is not uncommon, even though more doctors are now employed since pre- covid where we had a better service. Even more concerning is that the doctors waiting rooms appear quite empty most of the time. On top of this, Aspen is continually advertising for more and more patients, which seems rather conflicting, considering how difficult it is to get an appointment!
