About: Lauriston Building / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I had my appointment booked in the late morning in the Dermatology Department in Lauriston Building Hospital Edinburgh.

45 minutes after my appointment time and I still had not been attended, making me to extend my parking and pay more, as well as making me late to others appointments that I have got during the day.

Good Morning Alejandragx25

Thank you for taking the time to post about your experience whilst visiting the Dermatology Department at Lauriston Building. As this platform is anonymous I am unable to identify exactly what happened during your time at the clinic. I have passed your comments on to the Senior Management Team for their information. Many factors can occur in a clinic that unfortunately can cause clinics to run over time. The nursing staff have a standard procedure whereby they communicate the late running of clinics at 30 minute intervals, and apologise for the wait whilst regularly updating. If clinics over run there is an ask for additional medical support, if available. The Clinical Nurse Manager has spoken with the Service Team on the late running of clinics and the impact it has on patients waiting. If you would like to formally report this instance, allowing us to review what happened during your appointment, you can contac the patient experience team via email at LOTH.feedback@nhs.scot This will allow us to review your records and clinical details.
