My husband had to attend out of hours due to a chest infection and not being able to get an appointment with his own GP. His breathing had got progressively worse and needed medical attention.
His appointment was for 2.15pm but he wasn’t seen until 3.30pm. In between those times my uncle had died in ward 41 and when I spoke to receptionist regards it I was told there were two urgent patients in-front of my husband. Therefore why give him an appointment for 2.15pm if there was two urgent in-front of him. Not only that but when I had told the receptionist that I had lost a family member they couldn’t even acknowledge it or sympathise, all they could say was that we have to wait.
I feel we were treated appallingly and it's unacceptable.
"No acknowledgement or sympathy"
