"Nothing was too much trouble for the staff"

About: County Hospital Louth / General surgery

(as a service user),

I had a right knee arthroscopy recently and from the moment I went in, I felt welcomed and at ease. I struggle with high levels of health anxiety but the staff were amazing and very informative. They checked my DOB loads and made sure I knew what I went in for. Even as I was about to be put to sleep the anaesthetists made sure I knew why I was there. This made me feel so comfortable and that nothing could go wrong. Lucy was the main nurse who dealt with me during my stay on Fotherby ward and myself and my partner both commented on her relaxed nature and wit, but how it didn't take away from her professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff on the ward and for that I am very thankful.

Another huge mention to the anaesthetists who also made my stay more bearable. This was the point I felt the most panicked but we just chatted away and they did their utmost to distract me, despite my panic. I cannot remember their names but they were amazing and very attentive.

If I were to ever need another procedure at this hospital I think my anxiety levels pre op would be considerably lower. I didn't sleep properly for 3 days leading up to my arthroscopy this time. NHS staff do not get enough credit, considering the workload that is building up around them constantly. So thank you for giving me the level of care and attention that you did ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

Hi

Thank you for taking the time to give your lovely kind words. We are so pleased that you had a positive experience on Fotherby Ward and at Louth Hospital. It is really good to read that the care and compassion given by our Anaesthetic team made you feel more at ease as we know that coming in for an operation can raise levels of anxiousness. We have shared your comments with the team and hope you are recovering well.

Kind Regards

Suzy
