"I can't fault any of the personnel I dealt with"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Primary Care Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I discovered by chance that my blood pressure was seriously high.

NHS24 were very busy but placed me on call back. When their operator was available they called me, took details and referred me to Out of Hours (Douglas St. Clinic in Hamilton).

I was seen very quickly and it was explained I should go to A/E. They forwarded all the details to Monklands Hospital. At the hospital I was again dealt with quickly. I didn't need to be admitted to a ward but was given medication and advised that my GP would now offer aftercare.

I can't fault any of the personnel I dealt with. All were very courteous, patient and clear in their explanations.

As a UK citizen I feel grateful for this service and all those who work to keep me well and healthy.

Thank you.

Dear stonezq85,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience and particularly for describing your positive and efficient patient journey across all the services.

I can imagine that it would have been a worrying time for you, therefore I was delighted to read that the care, treatment and onward referral you received when attending Primary Care Out of Hours service was effective and well-organised.

The staff work incredibly hard to ensure they provide person centred care and a positive experience for patients who require to use this service so they will be delighted with your lovely comments, which I will share with them.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your feedback.

Kind regards,

Maureen

Update posted by stonezq85 (the patient)

I called NHS 111 in December and the call handler's name was Aiden and the nurse I spoke to was Keith. I'm unable to remember the name of the doctor who then recommended I go to 'out of hours'. A big thank you to all of them. My BP is returning to normal with the meds I've been given. I count myself lucky and believe I am a NHS24 success story having avoided long term damage if this hadn't been diagnosed and addressed so quickly.
