I was diagnosed towards the end of last year, with follicular lymphoma cancer and in January this year, I found out it was worse than my cancer specialist thought. I had a swollen spleen and fractured t10 vertebrae due pressure on my spine from lymphoma. I started my chemotherapy in ward 5e and they couldn't be more helpful in my battle with follicular lymphoma. I had 17 cm mass of lymphomas through my body from my face and neck, chest, stomach and groin.
Their help in my six chemotherapy cycles, which I finished in July this year, had shrunk to 6 cm in my stomach. Everywhere else was clear of lymphomas. I started maintenance therapy with rituximab in the following month, and it started shrinking after two maintenance treatments. So, as I look to the future, I know I will get it to remission but could never have so done without all nurses and doctors of ward 5e and ward 3a, where I see my cancer specialist. They all looked after me for the last year and most importantly, they have given me my life back when I didn't know what the future holds. Now I take one day at time. Thank you all at ward 3a and most importantly, ward 5e, where I was, and continue to be treated.
