"Poor level of care during triage"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

I had been recommended by NHS111 to head to forth valley royal hospital emergency department for Futher tests.  As 111 are concerned about a few things. And I have too many red flags not to be seen (this is 100% concerning to me so I headed straight for the A&E department as I was told to do).

I arrived and was called through by the triage nurse who in my opinion had the worst attitude I have ever experienced has said my obs look good and that I’m faking what’s going on ? I’m sorry but considering I’m under hospital care already for my mirgraines and the side affects from them I find this an absolute shocking way to treat a patient. Currently there’s announcements going off asking people to respect the staff but why should we when as patients we are not treated with respect ?

Dear Chris2736281047-910173749201

Our apologies for the delay in replying to your story. May I apologise on behalf of staff for your experience during triage.

I can advise that it is never the intention of staff to cause any further upset and distress at what would have been an already stressful time for you. I would like to re-assure you that all stories are shared with staff and are asked to reflect and learn from stories which are at times difficult to hear and to take forward any learning into their everyday practice.

I hope you are well and thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Kind Regards

Caroline
